Infused vodka is a fun and unique hostess gift for the holidays. Vodka can be infused with a variety of flavors from citrus to candy canes!

If you & rsquore like me, then you love shopping for Christmas gifts. It & rsquos never seemed like a chore to me to choose the perfect give for everyone on my list. Some years, I get my shopping done extremely early, and other years (like this one, for instance) I tend to spread my shopping out over a long period of time and perhaps even wait until * gasp * last minute to find the right gift .

That being said, I don & rsquot appreciate the multiple emails a day in my inbox that are telling me that & ldquotime is running out & rdquo and that & ldquothere is still time to choose those last minute gifts & rdquo. It & rsquos the first week of December! By no means is this last minute, and it irks me that stores try to get me all stressed out that I don & rsquot have my shopping done yet.

Just to prove to you that we all still have plenty of time to choose your holiday gifts, here is an awesome homemade edible gift idea that takes several days to make, but with very little actual hands on time. Yes, infused vodkas are easy, impressive and delicious, but they do take a few days to make. But no worries, right? We all still have plenty of time!

I & rsquove been wanting to try to make my own flavored vodkas for a while now. I love the idea of ​​mixing unique combinations of flavors that lead to some very impressive cocktails. I decided to go with three flavors and played around a little with various winter and
holiday classics.

For the Citrus Rosemary Vodka, I combined clementines with a bit of grapefruit and some aromatic rosemary. It & rsquos like a cocktail version of my Rosemary Citrus Spritzer. The Cranberry Orange Vodka has notes of cinnamon and clove for a warm, holiday feel and the Candy Cane Vodka is full of pepperminty flavor. Simply place vodka and your desired flavor infusers in a mason jar and allow to steep until the the vodka has taken on the flavor of your added ingredients. The process couldn & rsquot be simpler!

These vodkas make perfect hostess gifts for the holidays, especially when decanted into fancy bottles or even sweet little mason jars. Tie a hand stamped gift tag around each bottle for a complete package. Don & rsquot let your email inbox bully you into thinking you & rsquove run out of time. Relax, make some infused vodka and sip on a yummy holiday cocktail. You totally have time!

Clams vary in brininess and the amount of liquid they’ll release during cooking, so you’ll need to adjust the salt and add pasta water accordingly. To prevent the sauce from getting too salty, we recommend a measured amount of salt for the pasta water. If possible, look for an artisanal dried pasta for this recipe — the rougher surface texture will catch the slippery sauce better.

Vodka pennette

The Vodka pennette are one of the icon dishes of 80s. Made with ingredients commonly found in all kitchens, they are simple and quick to prepare and this is where the secret of the success achieved during that period lies. A tasty first course to discover or rediscover!

  • 320 g of penne (or half penne)
  • 1 spring onion
  • 1 chilli (optional)
  • 200 g of smoked bacon
  • 1/2 glass of vodka
  • 300 g of tomato sauce
  • 80 ml of fresh cream
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper

There are dishes inextricably linked to an era, the Vodka pennette are synonymous with 80s. Made with ingredients commonly found in all kitchens, they are simple and fast to prepare and this is where the secret of their success lies.

From the recipe for penne with vodka there are numerous variations, almost all of which include cream, an omnipresent ingredient in the cuisine of those years.
If you wanted to organize one dinner with friends 80s themed, this one first course it should certainly not be missing.

The typical menu could be: like starter prawn cottail, then penne with vodka, risotto with champagne or cream paste, bacon and peas, for according to a nice fillet with green pepper and to finish a sumptuous mimosa cake or chocolate profiteroles.

Here we made the vodka penne with smoked bacon, onion, and tomato sauce and a spicy note of peoeroncino. In 30 minutes you will have a tasty first course, ready on the table!

Preparation

Leave a pinch of chilli pepper in the small glass of Vodka for a few minutes and, in a pan with high sides, fry the chopped onion in 2 tablespoons of oil, add the bacon and brown.
Deglaze with the small glass of Vodka in which it is left to infuse
the chilli.
Let it evaporate and pour in the tomato puree.
Season with salt and then add the cream (also vegetable-based if you prefer).
Meanwhile, boil the pasta in plenty of boiling water and, after draining it al dente, pour it into the pan
stirring with the Parmesan.
Skip a few minutes and serve sprinkling with grated Parmesan cheese to taste.

recipes with mushrooms are a particular recipe because they are cooked with vodka and flavored with paprika and cinnamon

ingrediants
25 g of butter
1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil
400g of chestnut mushroom caps
2 cloves of garlic
2 teaspoons of paprika
6 tablespoons of vodka
400ml of vegetable broth
a pinch of ground cinnamon
1 pinch of mace
150 g of wild mushrooms
6 tablespoons of sour cream
salt and pepper parsley
heat the butter and oil in a frying pan add the onion and lightly fry add the garlic and cook for 4 minutes stirring the paprika and cook 1 minute
pour the vodka while it is boiling put on fire being careful not to burn when it goes out add the cinnamon broth and mace and season with salt and pepper and simmer for 4 '. Add the wild mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes, stir in 2 tablespoons of sour cream
spoon the stroganoff on serving plates and finish with sour cream, paprika and parsley


Ingrediants

Slice the onion finely and fry it in a large pan over low heat. Once golden, add the smoked bacon cut into cubes, letting it brown slowly.

Blend with the vodka, and when it has evaporated, add the peeled tomatoes together with two fingers of water that you have poured into the jar in order to clean the tomato residues (nothing is wasted!)

Adjust with a pinch of salt, without exaggerating, remember that the bacon is already there to give flavor, then cover and cook for 10 minutes on low heat.

Lift the lid and mash the tomatoes well with a fork: by now they will be very soft! Add the spoonful of concentrate, mix well and cover again, continuing to cook the sauce for another 10-15 minutes.

Now pour in the fresh liquid cream and bring everything back to the boil for a few minutes, always on a moderate flame, stirring occasionally until the sauce becomes very creamy (do not let it dry too much, please).

Once ready, turn it off and let it rest covered.

Boil a pan of water for the penne, together with a light handful of coarse salt as soon as the water boils, pour the penne cooking them al dente, then drain them with a colander directly into the saucepan.

Turn on the stove on high heat again and carefully mix the penne with the vodka, mixing everything together.
